Well we found out at our 16 week ultrasound that we are having a BOY and GIRL!!!! We could not be more thrilled!! Matt was right all along, baby A is our girl, Chloe, and baby B is our boy, Jude! They both have strong heart beats and are apparently above average in weight for twins for this point in my pregnancy. Hearing that news from the doctor is always a relief! We are both so ecstatic about having one of each, definitely best of both worlds. This very well may be a one and done deal for us...but I told Matt I'm making no promises yet! :)
I started my teacher assistant position this past week and it has been a very refreshing change. I love the school I'm working in now and everyone there has been really supportive and excited about my pregnancy! Matt is continuing to be super productive with home improvements and getting things ready for the babes. He is so excited about Chloe and Jude, he talks to them multiple times and day...it's really cute to see this side of him. He's going to be an amazing dad! I actually "think" I felt them this morning. I'm not sure, but my doctor said it feels likes little bubbles and flutters in your stomach at this point and I definitely felt that sensation, it was pretty cool!
Until next time...

14 weeks and the babies are growing!
Matt and I went to our 14 week ultrasound this past week and the babies are doing great! They are both measuring the same size and have strong heart beats...doctor said that whatever I'm doing, keep it up because the babies are growing perfectly! And I can tell they are because I officially have a babies bump! I'm back to being able to eat the "normal" food I always ate before I was pregnant, which has been really nice! I haven't had to take my nausea medicine in over a week and I finally have some energy back and have been able to get back into the gym; so nice to feel like myself again!
We have started doing some home improvements since we've been back home after the holidays. We are converting our laundry room into Matt's new "office", more like a cubicle ha, but it works. We have put our washer/dryer in the garage, which is now going to be the new laundry room/Matt's man room. We are putting a couch and TV in there and moving all the outdoor garage tools/lawn equipment to an outside shed Matt is putting together next weekend. He has been super productive and I'm like "more power to ya, babe!" :) The office we have upstairs will be the nursery and I definitely have the itch to get in there and start putting it together! Have to wait until Jan. 26th for our anatomy ultrasound to finally be able to call our babies by name and get started in their room! I will write again in 2 weeks when we can announce what we are having!

Emily

13 weeks and finally into my second trimester!
While most of you are up to speed with what's been going on for the past 3 months, here's a little recap for those of you who that need some catching up. Matt and I found out Nov. 22nd, 2 days before Thanksgiving, that I had TWO heartbeats in my belly! We we're quite surprised, and to tell you the truth, a bit freaked out to learn we are having TWINS! But after the shock settled in, we could not be happier and more excited to bring two precious babies into the world (due date July 12th)! Matt reminded me, "you know you always like a bargain"...and we got our 2 for 1 deal! :)
I am thrilled to report that I'm FINALLY starting to feel better! Like clockwork, right at 6 weeks the nausea hit hard and was constant throughout the day. I know this is a "good" sign that the babies are growing and thriving, but OMG was I miserable! It was intense up until about 11 weeks and has settled down since then. Because we are having twins, I have to see a high risk doctor along with my primary OB. The upside of that is that lately we have had ultrasounds done about every other week and its been awesome getting to see our babies on the regular. Last week we had our 12 week appt and everything looked perfect, so I was so excited to finally be able to let the world know our exciting news!
And thank goodness I could finally tell people because I swear I'm ALREADY showing! It's crazy how fast your body will change with 2 little ones in there! Matt and I are super anxious for our 16 week ultrasound on Jan. 26th...we get to find out the sexes!! Right now they are labeled Baby A and Baby B when we go in for ultrasounds. Baby A is always moving, kicking...very hard for technician to get measurements she needs ha. And Baby B is very mellow and just chillin. So Matt believes A is a girl and B is a boy...time will tell :) I think it's a boy and girl or two girls. I really can't imagine 2 boys...but whatever they are we will be thrilled, just want them to be healthy!
Another huge blessing in our life that I want to share with you all is that I am transitioning into a Teacher Assistant role at the same school I was working at last year! It has been very challenging for me to keep up with all the demands of being a teacher with the extreme exhaustion and sickness I've been going through and something had to give. So when this TA position opened and I got the job with maintaining my health benefits (which was HUGE), I could not have been more relieved! This is the best move I could have made for myself, my babies and Matt's sanity :) Because let's get real...I'm going to be huge and uncomfortable before I know it and this position will be stress free which is exactly what I need!
We look forward to continuing to update you all on what's going on and can't wait for you to meet our little ones! They have no idea yet how lucky they are to have such important and special people in their life!
Until next time...
Love, Emily
